Welp. I find it kind of hard to believe, but I guess I finally went ahead and chose to start writing this. Well, technically I already wrote this, but I'll explain that in a bit. I've mentioned this to some people over the interwebs already, but for a while now I've wanted to start writing a blog. The recurrent problem I had with this is that I could never think of a proper idea to start the blog with.
Then, at some point during (probably) early January this year or so, it dawned on me that I had the pretty good opportunity of using a trip as my opener for this blog. So, when the time for the trip came, I brought my phone with me and decided to write on my experiences through each day, once I had decided that particular day had ended. I used Apple Notes to write what I'd consider to be the draft of this blog entry, because while I intend to draw its contents entirely from that draft, I don't wish to just copy-paste it to this webpage as it is. (Actually I think this preface might be the part that deviates the most from the literal contents of the draft)
I have started typing this on this webpage as of the 20th of Februrary. The trip lasted for 10 days, from the 17th of January, to the 27th. The preface in the draft brings up the concept of "expectations", which lay out what I expected my experiences to be during the trip. First thing on the list was the road trip itself, which I declared I would "enjoy", but that it wouldn't bring me much to talk about. I expected it to be about 9 hours long, which looking back I guess was an accurate estimation but I probably talk more about that on the proper chapters.
I feel like this whole expectations thing kinda drawed out the preface for too long in the draft, so I think I'll skip it (well, besides what I've already said about it). You just need to know that we hopped on a car, left home, and we got on our way to Minas, a small city in the nation of Uruguay. If I clarified something in the draft of the preface that I haven't here and it's relevant to the events of a particular day, I'll just clarify that on the day it pertains to.
Finally, you should know there might be pictures here and there. It is possible I didn't take as many as I would've wanted to, but I reckon this format of blogging grants a higher priority (can't come up with a better term) to text, so I am okay with there being no abundance of graphic media.
That being said, let's pretend it is the 16th of January, and...
